In a time of economic downturn, Portuguese wind development has robustly continued. An additional 260MW has been installed over the first part or 2011, landing Portugal a top 10 spot in the World Wind Energy Associations (WWEA) top worldwide Wind Energy Markets.

Portugal are also pushing the envelope on offshore wind development, with the innovative WindFloat project set to launch later this month.
