This intensive solar training teaches you to design, install and sell solar PV (electric) systems, plus helps you pass the NABCEP Entry Level Exam. The training combines 16 hours of online lessons including reading assignments, worksheets and other prep with a 3 day classroom based boot camp including hands-on exercises and face to face time with an expert instructor. On the last day of the training students take the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners NABCEP Entry Level Exam.
3 key steps to completing this course:
- Complete 16 hours of online prep anytime before the classroom session begins. (Available immediately upon registration)
- Attend three days of live, boot camp instruction. Includes hands-on design & installation exercises. (Book, materials, meals included)
- Take NABCEP Entry Level Exam at conclusion of boot camp, or schedule future test date (Can be a game-day decision).
Walk through a solar installation from A to Z. Worksheets to design your own solar array. A review of electrical basics. An overview of the latest solar technology and learn how to compare your options Discussion of the basics to selling solar systems including government incentives. Rack & wire a demo array with your instructor’s guidance. Get hands on with a Solar Pathfinder. Review the types of PV Systems. Learn how to accurately perform a site survey. (and what to watch out for) Calculations and comparisons on the economics of a system. In-class exercises to see how solar systems really work.
