LOCAL: The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is currently soliciting comments on how the integration of renewable energy will affect the power delivery system. In our local section, we ask smart grid professionals involved in a selection of different smart grid market segments to address how the integration of renewable energy will affect their business.

INTERNATIONAL: The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in its latest report recommended the establishment of an appropriate transatlantic liaison with existing efforts to ensure compatible international standards and regulation wherever possible. This dialogue has yet to begin. In our international section, we will initiate the first step: We will ask utilities and smart grid vendors to share their experiences with existing or conspicuously missing regulatory models.
