Effective Pump Optimization | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
October 13th - October 15th, 2010
Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Topic: Career & Job
Event Type: Training/Seminar
The focus of this seminar is to provide participants with the knowledge required to select, operate, and maintain pumps in their facilities. A strong, core knowledge of the proper functioning of a pump reduces repair costs, improves reliability and reduces energy consumption / cost. From the design engineer to the maintenance technician this course will help the delegates make proper decisions about pump installations, operating and maintenance procedures, as well as troubleshooting field problems. The course is based on practical knowledge allowing delegates to make an immediate impact when they return to their facilities, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of their pumping operations.
Workshop Facilitator Profile
The Course Facilitator is one of three people in the world qualified to teach both the Hydraulic Institutes- Pump Systems Optimization Course and The U.S. Department of Energy’s- Pump System Assessment Course. He is also one of three senior instructors for the US DOE’s Pump Systems Assessment course. These are the two premier pump system energy optimization courses taught today. He has extensive field troubleshooting experience at multiple municipalities, refineries and power plants.
He is the President and CEO of Pump Design Development & Diagnostics, LLC (formerly known as MechTronix Engineering). He provides reliable, high efficiency design solutions for companies that manufacture pumps and pump systems.
He trains engineers to properly design, apply and troubleshoot pumps and their related systems. He also provides the software tools needed to create, analyze and test world-class pump systems.
He established his own consulting company in 1999. Since then, he has applied his engineering design, analysis, and training expertise to improve pumps and pump systems and reduce energy costs for big companies.
A partial list of his clients which he has consulted includes
- Taco Inc.
- Chempump
- ExxonMobil
- Shell Canada
- Hayward-Tyler
and other projects including projects that range from the design and development of semi-conductor related micro pumps to the development of several thousand horsepower power recovery turbines.
He has extensive experience in the application of advanced software tools, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), in the field of turbomachinery development.
He was also adjunct professor at California Maritime Academy where he taught Courses in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Automation, Vibration Analysis, Auxiliary Machinery, Drafting, and Fluid Mechanics Laboratory
He is actively involved in the development of Pump Standards as a Standard Partner for the Hydraulic Institute.
He is the Winner of the ASME Faber Award for Engineering Excellence 1991 and 1992, Winner of the Naval Society of America – Leadership Excellence Award 1992 and was President of ASME-student Section.
